TBD Group speaks to New York Post on AI & Privacy

Paul Armstrong, founder of emerging technology advisory TBD Group, was asked for comment by the New York Post for a piece examining the trade-off consumers are being asked to make between convenience, safety, and privacy as AI takes a larger role in everyday life.

The article uses recent flashpoints of Ring's controversial Super Bowl ad, OpenAI's handling of messages from the accused Canadian school shooter, and the FBI's unexpected recovery of Nest footage in the Nancy Guthrie case, to ask whether the rules governing our data are remotely fit for the era we're now in.

Paul's view is that they aren't: "Right now the laws we have are essentially running a dial-up connection in a 5G world."
